Iglesia Luterana Costarricense

The Women’s program was started by the Costa Rican Lutheran Church in 1994, with the "Ministry of Women" as a fundamental part of its Integral Mission and later became a formal and permanent committee which aims to promote leadership, advocacy, and organized independence on a social and economic level.

DSC00777A new park along with a multi-purpose court for children and youth opened in the Garcia Monge neighborhood, in front of Alajuelita’s Casa Abierta.

This park was made possible because of the church’s relationship with the local community, organizations, and the municipality. The church was represented by the Pastor of the community, Joaquin Hoering, and Teresa Guadamuz of the local committee, Carlos Leiton Madrigal, of the Bible Baptist church, who honored the day with a blessing.

marchaThe Costa Rican Lutheran Church and the European Union initiated a program “Preventing domestic violence.” This mission is possible, thanks to the cooperation and support of partner countries that, on the 20th of December, 2011, signed an agreement with the Lutheran Church, Soccer for Life, and the Central American Institute of Governance.
