Visita pastoral de la Iglesia Luterana Costarricense a territorio Indígena de Cabagra
A inicio de febrero hicimos una visita pastoral a Pueblo Nuevo de Cabagra.
La visita pastoral -de lunes a viernes- fue recibida cordialmente por diversas familias del Clan Olla, del Clan Ñame del Clan Pájaro, todas en Pueblo Nuevo de Cabagra.
Durante esos días abordamos asuntos de salud integral utilizando los recursos naturales del territorio indígena, intercambiamos conocimientos y saberes en actividades agro-ecológicas, compartimos temas eclesiales orientados a la misión y visión de la Iglesia Luterana Costarricense y hasta hubo un tiempo para la elaboración de jabones artesanales.
Encuentro en el Río Cabagra.
Para la Comunidad indígena, el río es un espacio socializador, donde se disfruta del contacto con la naturaleza. Uno de los propósitos de este encuentro además de convivir entre hermanos y hermanas, fue recibir energía del río, para sobre llevar la carga académica del 2024, por esto participaron las maestras y los niños y niñas del pueblo.
El pastor Nehemías Rivera procura entrar a esta zona al menos una vez al mes, para compartir con estas comunidades.
Una historia conjunta
La Iglesia Luterana Costarricense comenzó su presencia en Cabagra con un acompañamiento legal en los años 80, mediante el programa jurídico de la ILCO coordinado en ese entonces por el Lic. Rubén Chacón. La Iglesia, por medio del pastor Nehemías Rivera, acompaña a esta población con un enfoque de Misión Integral desde mayo del 2000.
En el 2001 acompañamos un esfuerzo muy importante para la Comunidad: la lucha para que en Cabagra hubiera un modelo educativo de “telesecundaria”, el cual se inició en el 2002, con 40 estudiantes y un profesor del sector de Pueblo Nuevo, Mauricio Villanueva. Ya para el 2003, se crea el Liceo Cabagra, y desde entonces, tanto jóvenes como adultos gozan de un centro de estudios secundarios.
En la Iglesia Luterana Costarricense hemos sido y queremos seguir siendo apoyo, respaldo, comunidad de hermanas y hermanos que alimenten las luchas, sueños y esperanzas de los pueblos indígenas desde su propia cultura y espiritualidad..
