Comunicado de la Iglesia Luterana Costarricense -ILCO- ante el tránsito pascual de la Obispa Victoria Cortez
Victoria Cortez, la Obispo de la Iglesia Luterana Fe y Esperanza, “la Vicky” salvadoreña, nicaragüense, centroamericana, está hoy y estará en adelante más presente que nunca en nuestra Iglesia Luterana Costarricense.
Su espíritu inquebrantable, su “teimosía” por la causa del Reino, su solidaridad con las personas empobrecidas y excluidas, su corazón siempre al lado de los pueblos y de las luchas por equidad, justicia y libertad, su ternura que tantas veces se expresaba como voz profética, todo ello y más se queda con nosotros y nosotras.
La Obispa Victoria fue, como Teresa de Ávila, una “fémina inquieta y andariega” que nunca cesó de caminar, dentro y fuera de Nicaragua, compartiendo su palabra poderosa, impulsando proyectos, removiendo conciencias, abriendo senderos y espacios para que nuestras iglesias siguieran caminando por rutas de inclusión y solidaridad arraigadas en el Evangelio de Jesucristo.
La Obispa Victoria sabía leer el alma de la gente y a partir de ahí surgía un sabio consejo, una amonestación -a veces tierna, a veces dura-, o una chispa de picardía que nos hacía reir y reflexionar.
Te nos adelantaste, Victoria. Regresaste a la fuente del Amor, de ese Amor por el cual viviste y te entregaste hasta el final, y hasta allá te enviamos un abrazo enorme, lleno de gratitud a Dios por tu vida y tu testimonio.
Que llegue nuestro abrazo a la Comunión de Iglesias Luteranas de Centroamérica -CILCA- y de manera especial a nuestra Iglesia hermana “Fe y Esperanza”, a Katia, a Ilo, a Vilma.
La vida de Victoria Cortez nos compromete a seguir su ejemplo.
