During the visit of Faith Lutheran Church of Minnesota to Costa Rica in 2010, the ceremony “Sowing for the Future” was performed in honor of the work that the Costa Rican Lutheran Church has done on both Social and Environmental issues.
 
This event took place at the Earth University in Guácimo located in Limon The delegation from Minnesota donated a tree to represent a new life for the future. This symbolic act is also a concrete and effective action to address climate change and to mitigate greenhouse gases.

With their slogan, “Join to stop climate change,” Earth University aims to increase global awareness within corporations, organizations and individuals in an effort to stop global warming.

"We met the goal, and thanks to everyone who believed in this initiative: Today we have given the planet a break with more than a million trees around the world," said Jose Zaglul, Rector of the Universidad EARTH.

The Costa Rican Lutheran Church expresses its gratitude to the sister delegation, who have so generously made a contribution to end global warming and make the forests greener.

Earth University also encourages organizations to participate in this program by planting a tree or making a donation in honor of individuals or families, for birthday or Christmas gifts, in memory of a loved one etc.
