ILCO youth express themselves through Youth Festival celebration

The Youth Commission of the Lutheran Church of Costa Rica (ILCO) works to promote cultural and recreational education as a way of stimulating creativity, and the Youth Festival embodied that mission. On May 18, more than 100 youth involved with ILCO participated in the festival, which helped to develop a critical consciousness about their reality, and at the same time, enjoy a day of friendship and happiness.

inlgles-2Activities included soccer, music, dance, food, presentations, games and clowns. The various commissions of the ILCO – entities which help organize and execute work in ILCO’s various ministries – were also invited to offer presentations of their work and activities involving the youth. Those commissions included the children, youth, immigrants, and communications and hermandades commissions. The Association of Living Hope Women and the community of Guatuso also participated, the latter with an exposition of indigenous artisan work.

The youth commission and Soccer for Life program sponsored the event. The event was offered under the framework of ILCO's 20th Anniversary, celebrated with various events in 2008.
